Pandit Praveen Sheolikar was born into a family of reputed violinists from Raipur, and trained under his grandfather Rambhau Sheolikar and father VR Sheolikar. He quickly mastered the techniques and ideas of his family, and has since pushed to develop his own approach to gayaki ang (singing style).
He balanced burgeoning acclaim as a young soloist with academic studies, gaining a first class Masters degree in Science. He now plays full-time, touring to acclaim and bringing his distinctive style to audiences home and abroad.
"One of India’s most accomplished violin soloists, with a wide-ranging, distinctive style, he is known for his soulful expressiveness" [Southbank Centre]
