Pandit Ram Kumar Mallick belongs to the illustrious musical family of Darbhanga Gharana (musical school). Together with Samit Kumar they unfold morning ragas. Although dhrupad is one India’s oldest and most evolved art forms, the Mallick family has continually evolved the genre over the last 12 generations. They are accompanied by Chana on the jori, a percussion instrument from the Punjab.
