SitarFest: Mita Nag & Surdarshan Chana

Sat 19 September, 07:45 PM, Purcell Room

Speed, virtuosity and genius invention combine to create a unique improvised sound by class musicians, Nag and Chana. Nag plays the sitar with an understanding and maturity beyond her years and showcases the delicate improvisational nature of the instrument. Chana’s sublime dexterity in manipulating time and tone through rhythmic patterns is exhilarating to witness.

SitarFest is curated by Darbar as part of Shankar 100, the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Ravi Shankar’s birth.
