Dilshad Khan (sarangi)
Sanju Sahai (tabla)

Experience an unforgettable inauguration of this year's festival as Khan mesmerizes with soulful ragas on the sarangi.

Hailing from the illustrious Sikar gharana, a lineage steeped in tradition and excellence, Khan's mastery spans ten generations of sarangi players and vocalists from Rajasthan. Under the tutelage of legends like his grandfather, Ustad Gulab Khan; his father Ustad Nasir Khan, and uncle the renowned Ustad Sultan Khan, Dilshad Khan embodies the rich heritage and profound artistry of this musical legacy.

Dilshad Khan perpetuates his lineage's rich heritage in the Hindustani classical tradition, frequently sharing the stage with tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and other eminent musicians. Moreover, he pioneers the sarangi's evolution, bridging the realms of film music and engaging in groundbreaking cross-cultural collaborations, thus expanding the instrument's expressive language to new horizons.

Khan presents soul stirring ragas and is accompanied on the tabla by Sanju Sahai, from the Beneras style providing magical rhythmic support.
