Thu 12 September, 07:00 PM, Leicester

An evening of deeply moving sitar ragas performed by Anupama Bhagwat, from a new generation of Indian classical musicians. The sound of the sitar has captivated the world since maestros Ustad Vilayat Khan and Pandit Ravi Shankar performed and delighted audiences all over the world.

Seduced by the Sitar is an opportunity to witness a performance from one of the instrument’s modern masters. Accompanied by tabla player Gurdain Rayatt, Bhagwat unravels moving ragas with her signature style of fluid melody, bent notes and flurries of virtuosic improvisation.

First half 90 mins and second half 60 mins with an interval. Free chai and samosas will be provided during the interval.

Venue: Trinity Chapel The Gateway, Leicester LE2 7BY

Suggested £5 donation. Tickets only available at the door.
