Sanju Sahai

Sat 27 October, 02:00 PM, Milton Court

Witness the marriage of power, virtuosity and complete spontaneity as Sanju Sahai gives a masterful tabla showcase.

A true child prodigy, Sahai gave his first solo performance at a major festival at nine years of age and had completed his masters in music by 18. As the sixth generation of the Benares Gharana lineage he can draw on a wealth of experience going all the way back to greats such as Pandit Ram Sahai and influences by the legendary Pandit Samta Prasad. Throughout his career he has been a prolific collaborator not setting boundaries for his musical exploration, leading him to work with artists as diverse as Michael Nyman and Patricia Rozario. Expect to be entranced by his dazzling tabla playing, delivered effortlessly and precisely.
